MOKA for Life... Style!

Hello folks,

We are back with a post about a very special place, for you hungry creatives living in Tunis. Moka Cioccolatah is a new lifestyle store located  in downtown La Marsa. If you are itching for a new fashion adventure and want to escape the city's hustle on a Sunday morning, Moka is the place to be. Yes, we call it Mocka because the name is too long for us, or lets say it's a form of endearment for our favorite lifestyle store in Tunis, there aren't many anyway..

When we first got in, we  thought it would be a place for food and drinks -as the name suggests- , but we found out that it is a newborn Tunisian lifestyle brand ...food for thought maybe ? Definitely! We loved the diversity of items and eclectic style which is a rare combination of modern and classic; with minimalistic furniture, vintage wooden tables, ethnic ornaments and home accessories ranging from your gramma's sewing machine, wooden prayer beads, to that retro typewriter you could have seen only in black and white movies or maybe in your little niece's Tumblr.

When it comes to fashion, Moka combines both authentic and trendy in its choice of colors and fabric. We absolutely love their summer shorts collection bringing Tunisian traditional  fabric to life. Dresses and clothing reflect the zen ,bohemian free-spirited flower child trend yet with an edgy, and unconventional outlook.

Myriam, the founder of Moka told us that the brand also stands for a social cause, through collaborating with women from under-developed regions in Tunisia. We have also met Amina, known in Instagram as Amoniak. We haven't talked much with her mainly because she was a -shy-don't want to talk about myself- kind of person. So adorable right? But we could sense that she is a is a well traveled introverted creative type who loves to color her world with cute little things. We love both Myriam's outspoken nature and Amina's positive outlook. They both  remind us of Emma and Elsie from  award winning blog A Beautiful Mess.

Come and join us at Moka store if you'd like to meet new people and discover a unique brand. Here are some photos of our favorite items at the store. They also have a cozy youthful  music, if you're into Arabic indie and rock bands.

Much love,
Oumayma
